Interesting, Norm and with the likes of cloves where tiny quantities are needed it does look simple and cheap. However I couldn't see any times for cloves but maybe the time for coffee is the standard time around which you test each of the separate polyphenol materials
I have no idea how you dissolve powdered cloves So if you can find reliable times for a range of films with coffee then you have your clove times as well Assuming that that's the times sorted or kind of, then the one drawback appears to be that you can only make up the developer for one film so it requires making it up each time you have a fresh film to develop Still for a long winter night a short roll of bulk film of inconsequential shots and cloves might be engaging Mike |

So far I haven't seen any fading over ten years but then my prints are stored in old paper boxes and not exposed to light
|
