Default Wet wipes

With all the adverse publicity over wet wipes I am surprised that anyone advocates there use for anything except personal hygiene.

Far better and cheaper is Isopropyl alcohol (99.9% pure) with a lint free cloth and for hard to get at corners assisted by a cocktail stick. It is a benign solvent that does not leave a residue.

If you have difficulty in finding it on sale Google Isopropyl alcohol and it can be sent to you.

Incidentally.

If you have a camera which has the dreaded 'sticky back', (Some Nikons and Canons), this sticky-ness can also be removed with the use of Isopropyl alcohol. Wiped on with a lint free cloth and gently rubbed is the way to do it. It may need 2 applications but as it evaporates quickly it will only take a couple of minutes.

I bought a Nikon F100 with such a problem (It was very cheap) and after a couple of treatments it has remained free from the problem for close on 3 years.

It also makes a perfect lens glass cleaner.

Thanks John, I do indeed have a sticky-backed F100 so that is very helpful. I see that amazon has a wide selection!
