Photo,

If this is it then

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hO6FYj1JjI

If using on a B/S head it is faster just to move the head landscape to portrait without having to unscrew anything, no good with long lenses say heavy F2.8 or 600mm, with a pan/tilt just flip from landscape to portrait

What am I missing ?

Thanks

Snap!

I got one a few months ago. Not used it a lot as I normally shoot 6x6 MF but it certainly makes switching from horizontal to vertical much easier than flipping the camera into the side notch on the ball-head (after rotating the head - or the whole tripod - to the correct position so the notch is on the right-hand side) and having to deal with the now awkwardly (un)balanced camera.

An excellent faff-saver for under a tenner.

One of the biggest benefits is it keeps the camera over the centre of the tripod which is more stable than having the camera hanging to one side

I also have the same bracket, although I rarely use a tripod it is a very handy piece of gear,

From two videos I've just watched, I'm not entirely convinced about it. It seems that you also need a 'special' type of tripod head to clamp the camera on and off = another purchase on top of?...

At the mo I think I'll stick with what I've got.

But on the video link provided, the guy seems to be turning something to hold the camera in place like a vice and not just the usual tripod bush?

If one used the tripod bush on this bracket, it would be no quicker than usual, as you'd still have to undo the tripod head to turn the camera, which bypasses the apparent usefulness of the bracket?
