Default linear polarisers

I first bought a LINEAR polariser many moons ago and have had no trouble using it on any of my cameras over the years, using step rings to make it fit the various thread sizes on other lenses.

Even autofocus on my cameras that have it have not struggled, including my most modern camera, a digital Pentax d ist.

I would therefore advise trying it, when required, on an auto focus camera before splashing out on a new circular one, as it may not be required!

Thumbs up for the use of filters, in whatever format you use though and agree that a B/W filter pack is worth looking into. I got a LEE pack of these very reasonably on ebay not that long ago.

I am also amazed at how little filters get used now with digital. It's all very much, well I'll sort it out later on the computer!

Terry

To use a linear polarizer with (most) TTL meters, just turn the polarizer until it lets in the most light and take the meter reading. Then turn it until you get the desired effect, ignore the lower reading, and take the shot.
